This Week’s Hot Topics: Clean Up Edition

Those who have been following my blog know about my move back in with my parents. It’s a part of my overall plan to eventually move to Sugar Land TX after graduation, which is happening this December. After finally completing the move out of my condo myself, hauling one or two boxes of stuff everyday in my sedan, I am now moving on to phase two. Phase two basically includes cleaning up the total mess I made of my parent’s house. Their living room is filled with old furniture from the room I’m now occupying, books, three of my old computers, garbage bags filled with old clothes and the some of the most random things. Starting today I’m cleaning up this eyesore because we’re going to have some family over tomorrow. The furniture is going on Craigslist, as well as the old electronics. The books and clothes are going to the Salvation Army.

Anyway, here are some of this week’s hot topics from sites that I frequent:

Jeremy at Generation X Finance makes sense of the recent market volatility. Jeremy knows his stuff, and I thank him for calming my nerves. I’m a long term investor, but it takes an iron will to sit tight through a double digit point drops in the S&P500 every other day.

CNNMoney has a short writeup about a new Lamborghini that costs $1.4 Million. I’m an automobile fanatic and I love exotic, outrageous cars like these, but thats not the reason I mentioned this article. It just stunned me to see in real terms how much that dollar has fallen against the euro. This car is $1 Million euros, which makes it $1.4 Million US. There goes our trip to Europe. I promise we’ll go… when the dollar strengthens honey.

Jonathan at My Money Blog found a credit card that is paying 5% cash back on all purchases for 3 months. If you normally charge a lot on your card each month or have a big purchase coming up, this is perfect for you.

Brip Blap gives tips on how to stay healthy and stay happy. These are great simple tips to live by, especially the part about sticking to long term monogamous relationships. I think he made this tip last but not least because if you fail at this one, all the health tips won’t matter because if your spouse finds out you’ll be dead anyway.

Haha! Exactly! Thanks for the link. You interpreted my post better than I could have myself! It IS probably the #1 health tip I could give, isn’t it? Good one :)
